After finishing my PhD at Ohio State, I had a 2 year post doc at the Centre for Disease Modelling at York University in Toronto and then joined the math department at Cleveland State in 2013.
Research Interests:
My thesis work focused on establishing patterns and phenomena with respect to the evolution of biological dispersal. Using reaction-diffusion-advection equations and dynamical systems theory, I studied the connection between a species' movement in a habitat with spatially varying resources and a species' evolutionary success. My present work is to understand the effects of dispersal on biological invasions and permanence in the presence of Allee effects and resource dynamics.
I am also working on mechanistic models to describe contamination dynamics in fresh produce and meat product supply chains. Currently, I have two main projects: one in collaboration with the United States Dept. of Agriculture (USDA) and the other in collaboration with the Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC).
