Curriculum Development, Mapping and Competency-Based Education: Aligning Program and Process for Assessment

    Research output: Contribution to conferencePresentation

    Abstract

This workshop developed participants’ ability to assess the fit between a range of curriculum development models and their respective social work program. Through group discussion and a hands-on curriculum mapping exercise, participants will increase their ability to develop a holistic competency-based curriculum in preparation for integrative assessment of program outcomes.” Presentation supported in part by travel funds from the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences, Cleveland State University. My presentation involved sharing my spreadsheet of 2015 CSWE Curriculum Competencies parsed into 90 discrete knowledge elements and practice behaviors, which were used to design the matrix for our BSW and newly independent MSW program’s curriculum and assessment.
