Abstract
© 2014 by World Scientific Publishing Co. Pte. Ltd. All rights reserved. Municipal solid waste (MSW) management constitutes major environmental, economical, and social problems in theworldwide. Landfill is the most accepted method of solid waste disposal in the world. This chapter includes brief description about waste generation and waste stream to the society/community as well as minimum criteria for solid waste disposal facility siting, operations and design, groundwater monitoring and action, and closure and post-closure maintenances, etc. for landfill.
