Landfill is the most accepted method of solid waste disposal in the world. This chapter includes brief description about waste generation and waste stream to the society/community as well as minimum criteria for solid waste disposal facility siting, operations and design, groundwater monitoring and action, and closure and post-closure maintenances, etc. for landfill.
