Open Educational Resources 101 for Librarians

Heard of Open Educational Resources (OERs) but not sure what they are? Want to gain some hands-on experience working with OERs and exploring their use in libraries and other educational settings? Join us at this all-day workshop to learn why you should care about OERs, where you can find them, and how you can use them to better serve your community.

Interest in OERs is gaining momentum all over the world and, now more than ever, librarians are poised to become essential partners in their creation and promotion. Whether you work in a public, school, or academic library, OERs can play an important role in building relationships, improving student learning, and supporting our mission to share education and information widely. Participants will leave this workshop with a better sense of what OERs are, strategies for finding and evaluating open resources, and take-away goals for promoting OERs in their own library or community.
