    Abstract

© 2007 by Taylor & Francis Group, LLC. We are witnessing the evolution of a fully industrialized world, with global industrial production, global markets, global telecommunication, global transportation, and global prosperity. This prospect brings with it the realization that current patterns of industrialization will not be adequate to sustain environmentally safe growth and therefore needs drastic improvement. What is urgently needed is a total management systems approach to modern civilization by focusing on pollution prevention activities as the first step.
