Abstract
The article analyzes the upsurge in overt Jewish identity in American popular culture using the movies "Meet the Parents" and "Meet the Fockers." These films show how the Jewish Jew is no longer avoided and does not fall victim to stereotyping when portrayed. The author stresses that the movies depict a broader evolution in media from the de-ethnicized Jew to performers flaunting Jewishness in a Christian-centric society. Thus, it leads to pose a question on what about Jewishness is cool.
